The Centra-flo™ Gravity Sand Filter is nominally rated from 3 to 7 gpm/ft2 of filter surface area. However, based on filtration characteristic of the solids present, higher or lower rates may be recommended. Before filter performance can be realistically predicted the amount of filterable solids, the variability of the quality, the fraction to be removed, and their characteristics must be accurately determined.
