Plant History: This is a new facility. The Town of Montross, VA has never had a wastewater treatment facility.

Plant Description: The facility operates as dual SBR with capability to receive septage waste by delivery truck. The operators have aeration capability in holding tanks prior to the SBR units. After the SBR the 90 gpm peak flow goes to an equalization basin prior to the tertiary filters. From the filter system the flow proceeds to the UV disinfection and flow measuring before final discharge.

Tertiary Filters: The two (2) Centra-flo Gravity Sand Filters Model CF-19 constructed of fiberglass with a 2"- 3 lb/ft3 insulation barrier. The insulation is protected by an outer shell of fiberglass to form an completely protected system. The filter system is designed to remove suspended solids from the plant discharge stream.

Filter Startup: The Centra-flo filters were installed in July 1999. Equipment startup was completed and the filter system was operational in early January 2000.
